Dear Friends,

Thank you, again for your faithful prayers, gifts, notes and other encouragement.

 

YOUR PRAYERS FOR THE CONDO SALE HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! We have accepted an offer from the buyer from The Netherlands; the closing will be on February 15. We leave for Springfield, MO on Saturday, January 26, leaving the final details to our realtor, and good friend, Ben Thompson.

PLEASE PRAY:

-          that paper work and details of the condo sale will go smoothly (God will lead you in how to pray)

-          for safety, protection and stamina for us as we take the long drive out there in the car

-          for Kemper and our friend, Marvin, as they drive the truck with our things

-          for those who will help at both ends of the trip in loading & unloading

 

- PRAY ALSO: for Warren & (our daughter) Laura, and the two grandchildren, as they pack up and prepare to leave on February 5 for ministry in ITALY, starting a church for internationals there.         

 

PRAY FOR EUROPE & THE EU PRAYER MINISTRY:

 

EU of PRAYER:

-          Meeting in SLOVENIA March 3-8, home of the EU President from January – June, 2008

-          For us, as we join them, praying for the EU, Europe’s prayer groups & further EU prayer ministry. 

-          For our visit with the Vandolsens and the new International Church they will be involved in

-          For the right contacts with other church & prayer leaders we are to meet with and encourage about prayer for and involvement in the EU, and national and local governments

-          For the Lord’s clear leading in everything about this ministry trip – that we will hear His voice clearly and follow, so that His purposes will be accomplished in every contact and situation

-          For necessary health & strength for this trip, for remaining, needed funds to come in on time – for the trip and for office expense and other expense related to the ministry.

PRAY ABOUT THESE EU & EUROPEAN NATIONAL ISSUES:

- EU parliament election and selection of EU presidents for 2009, for these to fit into God’s plan.

- Internal land and sea border checks have been abolished since December, 2007; restrictions on air borders will be lifted by March, 2008.

- Germany and Austria, and other EU nations, fear a potential invasion of criminals and prostitutes across their borders, as they become even more open. They are setting up safeguards against this.

- Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo are again the focus of conflict in Europe. Kosovo could even cause conflict between the EU and Russia. Only God can resolve this ancient problem.

 

As you pray for different world areas needing prayer, including AFRICA; PLEASE PRAY FOR KENYA:

     Either through Bobby & Rhonda Martz, Elim, or other sources; you probably know about the political and economic problems in KENYA since the disputed election, and the unrest it is causing. We just want to remind you to pray for the churches and Bible schools, and the Christians in KENYA. According to reports from Christian leaders; secular news has not given a clear, full picture of how many have been killed in riots and fighting between rival groups, neighbors turning on neighbors, and churches and homes destroyed. So, PRAY, for KENYA, especially for Christians and Christian ministries there!

 

PRAY for our enlarged ministry, and all aspects of our new life in Springfield, MO:

As we have written before, the Lord is leading Hugh to research and prepare regular information for prayer about not only the EU and EUROPE, but other areas involved in END TIME prophecy – including the Middle East, China and Russia. PRAY: for us as we make contacts about this with AG mission leaders, as well as local churches in Springfield, that we will be effective in helping the work of evangelism and missions through this new, enlarged ministry. God bless you as you pray!

HELPS FOR A DAILY WALK WITH GOD #4

Our purpose in these short studies is not just to give information or define kinds of prayer; but to give practical, usable suggestions for expressing our love to God in our daily walk with Him.

In this first study of the year 2008, we believe we should re-emphasize basics principles of prayer, and types of prayer we have mentioned in previous studies. We pray that, as you continue to relate to your Lord in these ways; your day-by-day conversational walk with God will be enriched.

 

“CHECK IN” with the Lord before starting each day acknowledging that without Him we can do nothing” (John 15:5), but through Him, we can do whatever His plan is for us to do (Phil. 4:13)

 

“PRAY “WITHOUT CEASING”” (1 Thess. 5:17); keep in fellowship with Him all the time, Nothing is more important than this! To fulfill His will and personal plan for our lives, we need to be led by His Holy Spirit at all times, remaining open and sensitive to the voice of His Spirit as He talks to us, and ready to turn to Him and talk everything over with Him – in all of the ways possible.

 

ASK HIM, AND EXPECT HIM TO TELL YOU, WHAT HIS PLAN IS FOR YOUR LIFE AND WORK

Your Father/God chose you for a specific place and work, through your relationship (constant, daily connection) with Jesus, by His Spirit, “before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 2:10) Don’t ever let your life just drift by! FIND OUR WHAT HIS PLAN IS FOR YOUR LIFE; LET HIM HELP YOU CARRY IT OUT. It may be a simple life, or it could be bigger than you could imagine. (Eph. 3:19-20) Only He knows and can help you fulfill His plan for you!

 

“THANKS-LIVING” – not only “THANKSGIVING” one day in the year, but giving thanks to the Lord through each day for His blessings (Col. 4:2; 1 Thess. 5:18).

 

WORSHIP & ADORE YOUR GOD, because HE IS GOD, and because you recognize Him as the source of everything of value -  your very life and purpose for living.

 

PRAISE HIM: through the day - recognizing WHO He is, His character and acts, His everlasting love and mercy; for daily blessings: a beautiful sunrise, a touch or smile of love & caring from a loved one.

 

In the future, we will write about other kinds of prayer, ways of living in daily, constant contact with Jesus, and filling our place in His plan and Kingdom. Meanwhile, let’s pray for each other – that we remain sensitive to His voice, by His Spirit, in our “inner man”. Then, we can experience that special joy of His presence in our lives and service, and, one day receive His “well done”, not because we did lots of “good works”; but because we were faithful in the specific “good works” He planned for us.
